It starts with a Country song

In 1976, Johnny Cash recorded a song titled “One Piece at a Time.” It was about an automotive assembly worker who spent 25 years accumulating car parts from the assembly line to eventually build his own Cadillac.

An odd car

The result was a strange combination of body parts from 25 years of evolving Cadillac models. The car was referred to as “psychobilly Cadillac.” The year the song was released, a Nashville Auto Salvage lot assembled a car from Cadillac parts to help promote the song internationally and gifted it to Cash.

In the same year

On the other side of the country, another hodgepodge of parts were being assembled in a unique way. On July 1, 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne put Apple’s first computer on the market. The rest is history.

Fast forward 40 years.
Now one of the biggest and most iconic brands in the world, the tech giant Apple is reportedly building an electric car. Over the years, one piece and one device at a time, Apple has continued to build a company around innovation and technology.

I decided to contribute!

Not knowing much about car design, or 3D rendering… I defaulted to the only thing I know.. compositing. I decided to build a car and use only Apple products! Yes everything you see was an image pulled from Apple.com (minus the tires and plate). It was a huge challenge but was really pleased with the results!
